Hamas rocket fired at Sderot had GPS, DEBKAfile sources
DEBKAfile's intelligence sources reported Wednesday evening that the rocket fired at the Israeli city of Sderot by a group close to the ISIS-linked Ansar Beit Al Makdis terrorist organization earlier in the day was fitted with a GPS system that guided the weapon to target. It was the first time a Hamas rocket of this kind was used against Israel. The Islamist terrorists are believed to have obtained the rocket from Hamas and upgraded it for greater precision. It caused extensive damage to buildings and vehicles in a residential area of Sderot near a school – but no casualties. In response to the attack, IDF air force, artillery, tanks and aircraft bombed Hamas infrastructure in northern and central Gaza.
