Heavy Russian air strikes on ISIS-linked force holding Syrian border enclave

The Russian air force directed a series of raids against the Jaysh Khaled bin Walid, which pledged allegiance to ISIS and is holding a pocket in the Yarmouk area. The pocket is strategically situated on the Syrian-Israel-Jordan border junction directly opposite Lahavot Habashan and Hamat Gader of eastern Israel. DEBKAfile’s military sources report that 1,500 extremist fighters were pummeled from the air in preparation for Syrian armored units and Hizballah to move in.
