High court approves release of 26 Palestinian terrorists
The Supreme Court of Justice rejected the petitions by Almagor, the association of bereaved kin of terrorism victims, against the release of 26 Palestinian prisoners convicted of murder Tuesday night.
Five were set free earlier and are believed heading for the Gaza Strip. The remaining 21 will be dropped off later on the West Bank and welcomed by the Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
This is the second batch of a total of 104 terrorists which Israel agreed to release in the course of peace negotiations with the Palestinians.
