Hizballah chief accuses Israel of assassinating Samir Quntar
Hizballah chief Hassan Nasrallah said in a speech Monday: “We clearly and openly accuse the Zionist enemy of assassinating Samir al-Quntar… We have no doubt that the Israeli enemy was behind the assassination in a blatant military operation.” He went on to say: “It is our right to retaliate to Quntar's assassination at the appropriate time and place and in the appropriate way and we will practice this right,” he said, alleging that the master terrorist was killed by a guided missile fired from Israeli warplanes.
Nasrallah’s unscheduled speech followed the mass funeral of the late commander of Hizballah’s terrorist networks in southern Syria and the Golan Damascus Sunday night.
Samir Quntar served 30 years in an Israeli prison for a terrorist atrocity in Nahariya in 1979 and was released in a prisoner swap in 2008.
