Hizballah conducts ‘tour’ of Israeli border area for ‘journalists’
The Hizballah terrorist organization conducted what it called a tour for foreign journalists on the Lebanese side of the Israel-Lebanon border on Thursday afternoon. The tour extended from the Naqoura border crossing, located across from Rosh HaNikra, to the area across from Kibbutz Hanita. A Hizballah spokesman gave explanations of the IDF's positions along the border including checkpoints, trenches, and communication and observation towers. However, the "tour" was roundly criticized on Lebanese social networks because it portrayed the area as controlled exclusively by Hizballah without any Lebanese military presence. DEBKAfile: It cannot be ruled out that the tour included no more than a limited number of actual journalists, and that it was only intended to provide an opportunity for Hizballah intelligence officers to visit the area in broad daylight, examine all of the fortifications and photograph them using high-resolution equipment without fear of being attacked.
