Hizballah wins another truce in Zabadani battle
A 48-hour truce was to begin Thursday morning in the NW Syrian town of Zabadani, under attack by Hizballah and the Syria army without a breakthrough for more than a month. Hizballah’s Al-Manar TV reports that the truce with the force holding onto Zabadani, the al-Qaeda affiliated rebel Nusra Front, also applies to two Shiite villages in Idlib, Fuaa and Kafraya, which are under rebel siege. A four-day ceasefire earlier this month broke down. It was also initiated by Hizballah.
