Human tests on Oxford University covid-19 vaccine paused after an illness

The Astra/Zeneca tests of the covid-19 vaccine developed by Oxford University were suspended after a recipient contracted a “potentially unexplained illness as a side effect.” The company paused the late-stage tests for tens of thousands of volunteers in the UK, the US, Brazil and South Africa when its “standard review process triggered a pause to vaccination to allow a review of safety.”
