Hurricane Matthew lashes South Carolina coast bringing floods

Six Georgia counties are under evacuation as Hurricane Matthew – now a Category 1 storm – lashes the coast of that state and South Carolina.. Flooding is a big concern from coastal Georgia through the eastern Carolinas, with the mega-storm driving 75mph winds, high seas and heavy rain along the coast. Storm surges could be life-threatening in some areas, potentially reaching 6 to 9 feet. The mega-storm that devastated and killed hundreds in the Caribbean has left four dead in Florida.
