ICC to go ahead with war crimes probe against Israel

International Criminal Court Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda has reportedly decided to go ahead with the war crimes case against Israel in favor of the Palestinians. She has therefore rejected Israel’s arguments that the Hague court has no standing in any such probe, since Israel was not a signatory of the Rome Statute treaty which established the court and the Palestinians are not a state. The US has warned that a crimes investigation against Israel would have “consequences” for the ICC.
