The IDF blew up a new Hamas terror tunnel running into Israel

Israeli forces Monday conducted a controlled explosion in an unfinished Hamas terror tunnel running under the border about one kilometer inside Israel near Kissufim. It came from the vicinity of Khan Younes in southern Gaza under the border. The IDF spokesman said the tunnel, which was not yet ready for use, constituted “a flagrant violation of Israeli sovereignty.”  Earlier, sources in Gaza claimed the Israeli Air Force had fired missiles on targets near Khan Younes. The spokesman denied this.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu recalled that he already indicated that Israel had developed innovative technology for countering Hamas’ tunnels for terror. Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman commented that, notwithstanding Palestinian “reconciliation,” the Gaza Strip remained “a kingdom of terror.”

Instead of blowing up the tunnels, Israel should fit the tunnels with poison gas or explosives to be set off when it detects people moving through the tunnels. Just a thought.

I like the thought…. but why wait for movement. They should just blow up gaza….then we won’t care if they have tunnels as we will then have guaranteed no movement in them
