IDF blocks roads after exchange of fire with Gaza Strip

Gunfire from the Gaza Strip on Sunday targeting the workmen building the underground barrier on the enclave’s border near Kissufim prompted an IDF mortar salvo against a Hamas position at Deir al-Balakh. The army also blocked the roads leading to the border fence and halted construction work. No Israeli casualties reported. In the last two days, Palestinian arson and incendiary balloons have been directed at Israeli locations from the Gaza Strip causing several fires.  Arab sources report that Hamas is resolved to re-escalate its confrontation with Israel since Qatar this month wound up its cash aid program to the Palestinian enclave.
