IDF bombs tunnel after ISIS missile attack on Eilat
Following Wednesday night's missile fire on the city of Eilat, the IDF bombed the opening of a tunnel in Rafah in southern Gaza, on the Egyptian border, several hours later. Two Hamas fighters were killed and five others were wounded. Out of the four missiles fired from the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula, three were shot down by Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system and did not cause any casualties or damage, although several people suffered panic attacks. On Thursday morning, the ISIS affiliate in the Sinai took responsibility for the missile fire. DEBKAfile reports that Wednesday night's rocket salvo was fired in retaliation for the assassination of the affiliate's number three commander.
