IDF Brig. Gen. Hazut named new commander of ‘Edom’ division

IDF Brig. Gen. Guy Hazut, who previously served as commander of the Kfir Brigade, was appointed Wednesday as commander of the "Edom" division that provides security on Israel's southern borders with Egypt and Jordan. Brig. Gen. Hazut served as head of the Kfir Brigade when one of its soldiers, Elor Azaria, shot dead a subdued Palestinian terrorist in Hebron in March 2016. The soldier was later convicted of manslaughter.
