IDF chief Kochavi appoints Ofer Winter division commander

Brig. Gen. Ofer Winter was Monday appointed head of the elite “Fire Division” by Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Kochavi, after he was passed over twice for division command by ex-chief Gady Eisenkott. The Paratroop and Commando Brigades are part of this division. PM and Defense Minister Binyamin Netanyahu issued a special message of congratulation to Brig Winter and confidence that “he will lead us to victory.”
