IDF drills simulated Hamas terror incursions from Gaza
The IDF has completed a two-day drill for countering a multiple Hamas terror incursion from the Gaza Strip. It covered a wide area of southern Israel, including the towns of Ashkelon, Netivot and Ofakim. The Shin Bet security service, the police and rescue services took part. They rehearsed responses to a Hamas incursion in various sectors by diverse forms of transport, including motorbikes. They also drilled coordination among the various bodies in response to extreme crises – from identifying the points of enemy infiltration, to getting set for defense, grappling with the capture of an entire community, the taking of hostages and the kidnapping of soldiers or civilians
