IDF officer killed in training accident in Hebron
A soldier accidentally discharged his firearm during a training exercise in Hebron Tuesday and shot the platoon commander who later died in hospital. Chief of Statt Lt.Gen. Gaby Eisenkott ordered all IDF training paused for 48 hours for all units to perform safety drills. A special meeting of the General Command was called to discuss the incident The accident occurred at the Gilbert checkpoint in Hebron, apparently after the soldier failed to properly unload his gun before the exercise took place.
