IDF officer kills Palestinian youth in rock-throwing mob

The incident occurred Friday when a gang of Palestinian youths hurled rocks at military vehicles near the A-Ram checkpoint north of Jerusalem. When a rock smashed through the windshield of his jeep, Col. Israel Shomer, Binyamin Brigade commander, stepped out and opened fire. A 17-year old Palestinian boy was injured and died on the way to hospital.
