In final retrial, Egypt’s Mubarak acquitted of conspiring to kill protesters
Egypt's top appeals court on Thursday acquitted former president Hosni Mubarak on charges of conspiring to kill demonstrators during the 2011 uprising that forced him from power. The court also said that no further appeals or individual lawsuits against the ex-president by relatives of the protesters who died will be allowed. It was the final retrial of the 88-year-old Mubarak after he received a life sentence in 2012.
