India launches biggest naval defense exercise in a decade

The Indian Navy Wednesday launched “Sea Vigil Exercise” along its entire 7,516.6km coastline and Exclusive Economic Zone, covering all 13 coastal states and Union territories, the Indian Navy spokesperson announced. He noted it took place “ten years after 26/11” and aimed to validate the efficiency of the measures India has taken since the 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai that claimed more than 160 lives.
