Iran arrests 40 people suspected of helping to build ‘terror tunnel’: report
Iran's IRNA news agency reported Thursday that 40 people have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in digging an underground "terror tunnel" in southeast Iran on the border with Pakistan. Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said the tunnel discovered several days ago was intended for attacks and terror. Tension has been rising recently in the border area in Sistan-Baluchistan province, with four Iranian border guards killed in a June attack by a Sunni terrorist organization linked to Al Qaeda.
