Iran: Either close military probe or nuclear deal is off

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said world leaders and the International Atomic Energy Agency must close the probe into the military dimensions of its nuclear program. Otherwise they will have to choose between the probe and the nuclear deal. The IAEA chief Yukiya Amano has said the file is still open on fhe military dimension issue. Therefore sanctions can’t be lifted.

DEBKAfile: This is another example of Tehran’s nuclear bluff. Shamkhani joins 17 other Iranian government and parliamentary institutions which have declined to sign the nuclear accord reached with the six world powers last July, claiming there was no accord only an “understanding.” The accordis therefore still up in the air in Tehran.
