Iran: Germany offers to represent Israel in Muslim countries
The Iranian Press TV reports that Germany has offered to act as Israel’s diplomatic and consular representatives in Muslim countries where Israel has no embassy. The offer, said the report, will be discussed during Chancellor Angela Merkel’s forthcoming visit to Jerusalem Monday, Feb. 24 with her cabinet. Countries mentioned are Indonesia or Malaysia, as examples of Muslim countries that don’t recognize the state of Israel. This report is not confirmed in Berlin or Jerusalem.
