Iran imposes rationing on gasoline, hikes fuel prices

As the sanctions-bound Iranian economy continues to decline, the National Petroleum Distribution Company in Tehran Friday imposed rationing on the purchase of gasoline and substantially raised fuel prices. Private cars will be allowed 60 liters of gas per month at prices rising from nine cents per liter to 12.7 cents.  Taxis and ambulances will be charged the same prices but will be allowed 500 liters per month.

I don’t believe that the ration is 15 gallons per month, I wish it were, it would be a strong statement of the bite sanctions are taking.

Well done Iran. This should happen everywhere to save the planet. Pity it wasn’t voluntary though…
