Iran launches large air-defenses war game, answers Israel’s “Blue-White Flag” drill
The Iranian army and Revolutionary Guards launched their largest ever combined war game Monday and Tuesday with the participation of ground, air and air defense forces over an area of half a million square kilometers. It was dubbed “The Defenders of Velayat Skies 97.” Deputy Coordinator of the Iranian Army Rear Adm. Habibollah Sayyari said that the systems used in the war game are all of domestic production and the Russian-made S-300 air defense system will not be used. The Iranian military exercise was announced a few hours after the Israeli Air Force disclosed its “Blue-White Flag” drill for combating hostile aerial attacks on the country.
