Iran may be just a month away from a bomb – report

Iran could produce enough weapons-grade uranium to build a nuclear bomb in as little as a month, according to a new estimate by top nuclear expert David Albright, former IAEA inspector and head of the Institute for Science and International Security. “Shortening breakout times has implications for any negotiations with Iran and currently they are too short and shortening further,” he warned. Iran would have to eliminate more than half of its 19 centrifuges to extend the time it takes to build a bomb to six months.
The Obama administration has said that Iran is probably a year away from having enough enriched uranium to make a bomb and is trying to persuade Congress not to stiffen sanctions against Iran during negotiations. There was no official comment on the report.
