Iran may quit the nuclear deal if new sanctions imposed

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqhchi warned Friday, “If in case some European countries are pursuing actions, such as new non-nuclear sanctions on Iran to appease the US president, they are making a mistake in their calculations and they will see the direct impact on JCPOA [the 2015 nuclear accord] and its viability”. President Trump has said the US will abandon the accord unless European powers can strengthen its terms. Britain, Germany and France have come up with a plan for new sanctions related to Iran’s ballistic missiles and intervention in Syria to avert the US exit from the JCPOA.
