Iran nuclear deal could stumble on gap over monitoring
Diplomats at UN Center were pessimistic Friday over the chances of a comprehensive nuclear deal being reached by June because of the sharply differing interpretations of last week’s framework accord between the world powers and Iran on monitoring. Iran’s supreme leader Aytollah Ali Khamenei Thursday ruled out any "extraordinary supervision measures" over nuclear activities and inspections of military sites. The US “fact sheet” in contrast said the IAEA would have “regular access to all Iran’s nuclear activities and to the supply chain that supports it.” President Obama has also spoke of “intrusive inspections built into the deal.”
