Iran plans “big-budget” film to “correct” Golden Globe-winning Argo
Tehran shot back at Ben Afleck’s award-winning thriller about the CIA’s rescue of 6 American diplomats from Islamist Iran with the announcement that it is planning its own epic film to “correct numerous historical distortions” in Hollywood's version of the takeover of the US embassy by revolutionary students in 1979 for 444 days. Washington regards this as a crude publicity stunt. Argo is banned in Iran but bootleg copies have a wide circulation.
