Iran releases second seized British tanker, keeps first

The second British-operated oil tanker, the Mesdar, seized by Revolutionary Guards forces in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday was allowed to leave a few hours later, but the British-flagged Stena Imperio, was kept back. UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt spoke of “serious consequences” if Iran does not release this tanker with its 23-member crew. “We are not looking at military options,” he stressed. “We are looking at a diplomatic way to resolve this situation, but we are very clear that it must be resolved.”

It’s time for the people who receive that oil to protect the shipments. Or just STHU when Iran takes the tanker and the oil.

It might take the military option to protect them from capture and release of what they have captured already.

Translation: “We beg Islam to be merciful on this matter where we have grieved the Iranian spirit and humbly ask for obedience.”

So much for the Royal Navy’s reputation.
