Iran unveils home-made air defense missiles

Tehran reports the testing Tuesday of a new anti-air missile, Ya Zahra-3, at an air defense war game, Guardians of the Valayat Sky 7, taking place in southern Iran near its Gulf coast and in international air space.  Official publications describe the system as mobile, deployable at multiple sites, linked to the state-level air defense center, able to simultaneously identify 30 targets and to intercept 12. Taking part in the exercise are 17,000 troops from the army and Revolutionary Guards, navy ships, Basijj paramilitary volunteers, artillery and police units and Russian-made S-300 air defense batteries.
