Iran will keep its forces in Syria, says IRGC chief in answer to Netanyhu

“The Islamic Republic of Iran will keep its military advisers, revolutionary forces and its weapons in Syria”, said the Head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Ali Jafari Wednesday. He was responding to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s advice to Iran “to get out of Syria fast” since its forces will continue to be targeted by the IDF. Jafari cautioned Israel against “playing with the lion’s tail” – else Iranian missiles will “roar and fall on [its] head.”

With all the military advisers pilled up in Syria, of course Jafari made the worst decision ever.

Empire building is always risky. There is no guarantee that the foreign intervention will be profitable or sustainable. Iran could be well on its way to insolvency over these adventures. I tentatively see BN has scored a point.
