Iranian navy drill begins in Hormuz
Iranian maneuvers involving warships, submarines and aircraft began early Friday in the Strait of Hormuz, through which one-third of the world’s seaborne oil exports reaches market. Naval commander Habibollah Sayyari was quoted by the Islamic Republic News Agency as saying exercises would last until January 2 in the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman, and northern parts of the Indian Ocean.
