Iran’s FM, in surprise visit to Qatar, discusses reconciliation with Riyadh

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday made a surprise visit to Qatar where he met with the Gulf state's emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and its top diplomat.
DEBKAfile: The visit is connected to recent efforts by Kuwait to mediate between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani visited Kuwait and Oman in February.
