Iran’s foreign minister and US Secretary of State to meet

In the highest-level face-to-face contact between the US and Iran since the 1979 Iranian revolution, Javad Zafir is due to meet John Kerry at the UN General Assembly in New York Thursday. Barack Obama has no plans to meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani when they attend the annual gathering of world leaders at the UN Monday, but US administration officials say a brief meeting might take place.
