Iran’s industrial-scale blackmail of journalists
Scores of journalists and their families have been threatened by the Iranian regime with blackmail, to ensure positive coverage in global media outlets, according to a new report by the Reporters Without Borders. This watchdog estimates that at least 50 international journalists have been threatened in the past year alone. For leverage Iran uses its spies and hard-line judiciary against Western reporters and in some cases threatsto detain members of their families.
