Iran’s president blames “enemies” for schoolgirl poisonings
Hundreds of schoolgirls in more than 30 Iranian schools in four cities have succumbed to unexplained poison attacks. Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi Friday blamed the attack on his country’s unnamed “enemies.” In Teheran, some politicians suggest the girls are being targeted by religious groups opposed to girls’ education. The first poisonings were reported in November in the Shiite holy city of Qom.
