Iran’s President Rouhani accuses US of undermining nuclear deal

At his swearing in Saturday for a second term, President Hassan Rouhani accused the Trump administration of trying to undermine Tehran’s nuclear deal with the world powers and urged European countries not to side with Washington. He said that the new US sanctions could hamper implementation of the nuclear deal.

Extra-stringent security measures were in place for the ceremony two months after ISIS gunmen attacked the Iranian parliament and the Khomeini mausoleum, killing 17 people.
