Iraq to halt Kirkuk oil supplies to Iran over US sanctions

The Iraqi government will halt the trucking of crude oil from northern Kirkuk oilfields to Iran as of November, when US sanctions go into effect against Tehran. Iraq exports less than 30,000 barrels per day to Iran. The decision caused surprise in the region and oil markets given Iranian influence in Baghdad.
