Iraqi forces advance into E. Mosul, ISIS moves west

US-backed Iraqi forces Tuesday made significant advances into Mosul from the east Tuesday on the 16th day of the coalition offensive to drive ISIS from Iraq’s second city. Iraqi forces are reported by official sources to be in control of the Gogjali neighborhood and the Mosul state TV building and advancing into the Judaydat al-Mufti district. ISIS is concentrating its forces in the western part of the city and continuing to carry out executions and displacing the population to create human shields.
