Iraqi forces in Fallujah repel ISIL counter attack

Iraqi forces repelled  a four-hour counter attack by the Islamic State in the south of the city of Fallujah on Tuesday.
It came the day after Iraqi military and militia forces entered the city with the help of airstrikes by the U.S.-led coalition against the extremist group, capturing a police station.
The attack started at dawn in Nuaimiya, a mainly agricultural area in southern Fallujah,
Independent military sources are reporting that Iraqi forces captured several towns on the outskirts of Fallujah Monday, but were halted by heavy resistance as they approached the al-Shuhada neighborhood at the southeast edge of the city.
