Iraqi troops capture most of Mosul’s airport from ISIS
US-trained Iraqi police forces captured the majority of Mosul's international airport, including its only runway, from ISIS on Thursday. US military spokesman John Dorrian said at a press briefing in Baghdad the previous day that there are estimated to be between 1,000 and 3,000 ISIS fighters in Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city. On Monday, a senior US commander in Iraq said that "Mosul would be a tough fight for any army in the world".
