Iraq’s central bank orders private banks to close Kurdistan branches

Iraq’s private banks have been order to close their branches in the Kurdish Regional Government within a week or face a ban on dollar sales. The central bank says they must all report confirmation with the order by Nov. 14 to avoid penalties. The order is part of Baghdad’s clampdown on the semiautonomous Kurdish region.
