Iraq’s parliament approves May 12 for general election

Parliament in Baghdad confirmed Monday that Iraq would go to the polls to elect a new parliament on May 12. The Supreme Federal Court ruled as unconstitutional Sunni and Kurdish lawmakers’ calls to delay the election, to allow masses of displaced people to return home.
