Iron Dome intercepts multiple rockets from Gaza

The Israeli districts abutting Gaza, Ashkelon industrial zone and the Lachish region were alerted Sunday night to a rocket attack, shortly after Hamas’s armed wing announced its first military exercise. Iron Dome was reported to have intercepted several rockets over the region next door to the Gaza Strip. The IDF later stated that there was no rocket fire. The alerts were triggered by heavy machine gun fire from he Gaza strip and they in turn activated the Iron Dome batteries.
