ISIS captures main Iraqi-Jordanian border crossing

The Al Qaeda ISIS captured two additional border crossings Sunday, Turaibil on the Iraqi-Jordanian border and Al Walid on the Iraqi-Syrian border, consolidating their control of the western Iraqi province of Anbar, and gaining ease of passage to Syria and control of the strategic trade artery between Iraq and Jordan. DEBKAfile: An estimated one million persons a year transit the Turaibil crossing (called Karame by Jordanians) which is located 320 km east of Amman. Islamist threat nears Jordan.
