ISIS chief Baghdadi in new video calls on followers not to despair
In his first video appearance in many months, ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi Thursday advised the United Stats that collaborating with Iran in the fight against his organization would profit no one but Tehran. DEBKAfile reports that, in his 49-minute tirade, Baghdadi appealed to ISIS fighters not to lose hope, but to carry on fighting, because, he said, history has proven that the few persistent fighters would be the victors at the end of the day.
He then warned Sunni Muslims fighting his organization that they were destined to be trampled under the feet of the Alawis and Christian infidels. Baghdadi then turned to the Gulf emirates, accusing them of secretly communicating with Tehran under the guise of anti-Iran opposition.
DEBKAfile adds: The ISIS chief has chosen to become visible at this time in order to disprove Russian claims that they killed him in an air strike.
Bagdadi is a piece of human refuse. I hope to be there when a special ops soldier puts a 9 mm round in his head. He has no chance of a peaceful retirement. He is done. And gone. The first time he sticks his head out of his cave. It will come off.
