ISIS executes Sweida Druze official, rejects Syrian prisoner exchange deal
The Syrian army Monday issued a final ultimatum to ISIS to release the more than 30 prisoners held captive in the Druze town of Sweida or be destroyed. ISIS is demanding ransom rather than trading its captives for the more than 200 Islamist extremists of the ISIS-affiliate Jays Khalid bin Walid. They were captured by the Syrian army during the battle for the Yarmouk Valley opposite southern Golan. To underline the refusal to trade, ISIS executed a Druze official.
