ISIS fighters capture several towns, villages north of Aleppo from rebels
After three days of fighting with rebels in Aleppo that started in the northern suburbs and spread to towns and villages north of the Syrian city, ISIS fighters captured the areas of Tel Ahmar, Tel Shaeer and Shaheen farms on Wednesday.
The rebels from the al-Sham organization suffered heavy losses in the fighting, with more than 70 dead and over 150 wounded who were mostly left behind and taken prisoner by ISIS. The terrorist organization also captured the village of al-Raee, located on the Turkish border about 30 kilometers from Aleppo.
ISIS is now trying to capture the city of al-Bab on the road from Aleppo to the Syrian border city of Jarablus in an attempt to create a supply corridor east of Aleppo and achieve military superiority in the area. Jarablus is a main point of entry for foreign fighters who come to Syria to join the terrorist organization.
