ISIS forces in Ramadi try to shoot down Iraqi PM’s helicopter
ISIS forces in the Iraqi city of Ramadi opened fire on the helicopter of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Tuesday, but he was not hurt and the helicopter landed safely in the center of the city. The prime minister, who visited amid an operation to capture Ramadi from ISIS, claimed that the city had been liberated, but the commander of operations in Anbar province, Gen. Ismail al-Mahlawi, said the army had only taken control of the center and that ISIS was still in control of large parts of Ramadi.
