ISIS is now attacking the big Iraqi oil city of Kirkuk

A large Islamist State force Friday launched a major offensive to conquer the Kurdish-Iraqi oil city of Kirkuk. The Kurdish Peshmerga army is battling hard to defend it. A number of car bombs blew up in the town center. The hostile onslaught had instantaneous effect on international oil markets, pushing prices up to $49 the barrel.
